When it comes to diesel engine there are quite a few important things that you need to know. The most important consideration should be to make your car environment friendly. And therefore it is essential to make your diesel engine compatible with the bio-diesel. This is good for the environment as well as the car. Pure biodiesel is non-toxic, is biodegradable and has no trace of sulfur or any kind of aromatics. Biodiesel will burn easily in any kind of diesel engine. And it will do a world of good to your engine.

Now the most important question is how you will make your diesel engine compatible with pure biodiesel. Though this is not difficult at all you will have to make sure that you follow all the steps closely. The very first stage is preparation. First you will need to fill your empty engine with biodiesel. Then you will have to expend the fuel by regular use. If you notice that your engine is performing poorly prior to full expend of the fuel you will have to move to the next step. The next step is to halt at a safe space and allow your engine to cool down. Then you will need to don your safety equipments, especially rubber gloves and eye protection.

Next you will have to perform the most important procedure of changing your fuel filter. Use a screw-driver or an open-ended wrench to remove the fuel lines from the filter. When you perform this step make sure that you place a pan underneath so that any fuel that leaks or spills is caught in the pan. Then you will have to remove your old fuel filter. You may need to special filter wrench for this. Fit in a new fuel filter. You will have to "prime' the filter with some biodiesel. Reattach the fuel lines and replace the fuel line washers. Use a rag to clean the excess fuel. Dispose the fuel from the catch pan and rag.
