The voltage input for the pressure washers are usually either 12 or 120 Volts, with the 120 Volt units being larger and more reliable than the 12 Volt burners. If you are looking for a portable power source, there are some washers that use a generator which generates 120 Volts, freeing you from the constraints of electrical cords. If you plan on using the washer to the extent that you will be starting and stopping it frequently, it is advised that you do not use a washer with an electric start, or you will risk destroying the batteries quickly.

If you decide to go with a gas powered pressure washer, you will be facing a choice between two different mounting styles. The first is a portable style that is built on wheels and has a completely self contained unit that has everything you will need, including a water tank, gas tank, generator, burner, pump, and motor. These are great for those places that are not very accessible by truck.

Skid mounted pressure washers are mounted a little differently. They are either mounted to a skid or a truck, with the water tank mounted next to the unit. These units are designed to be able to handle larger jobs since they are larger and have a higher capacity for water. Of course, whatever job you plan on using this for must be able to support bringing in a truck or skid to the site. Most businesses tend to use a trailer to mount the pressure washer to a trailer, leading to a much more portable and convenient solution. These are exactly like their truck mounted cousins and use gasoline or diesel.
